Australia has joined the party making Project X the number one movie in the country, grossing in excess of $1.2 million in its first weekend on screens.
“Project X” follows three seemingly anonymous high school seniors—Thomas, Costa and J.B.—as they attempt to finally make a name for themselves.  Their idea is innocent enough: let’s throw a party that no one will forget, and have a camera there, to document history in the making… but nothing could prepare them for this party.  Word spreads quickly as dreams are ruined, records are blemished and legends are born.
Nima Nourizadeh makes his feature film debut directing a cast of newcomers who scored parts through a nationwide talent search. Todd Phillips (“The Hangover” films) produces the film, with Joel Silver, Scott Budnick, Andrew Rona, Alex Heineman and Marty P. Ewing executive producing.
“Project X” stars Thomas Mann, Jonathan Daniel Brown, Oliver Cooper, Dax Flame, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Alexis Knapp and Miles Teller (“Footloose”).

Project X is American Pie meets Road Trip meets absolute mayhem! I went to the screening last week and had heard the hype surrounding the film aptly titled: ‘Project X’

If you’re looking for escapism, giggles and eeewwwww moments – this is the film for you! It seems that Australia agrees:
Project X released in cinemas nationally on March 1st 2012 and is rated MA 15+ “…is as funny as anything that happened in The Hangover.” Leigh Paatsch – Daily Telegraph “The film’s main purpose is shock and outrage. And to give credit where it’s due, it goes the whole hog.” Nick Dent – Sunday

Telegraph “PROJECT X is not a film made for mature audiences, or anyone with an ounce of sophistication. It’s well and truly aimed at teenagers who will think that getting drunk, stoned and trashing the family home is hilariously funny.” David Stratton – At The Movies

“Project X had the best movie soundtrack I have heard in a long time. Funny ass movie too.” Stevie Z – Radio Metro
“Project X is the must see movie of 2012” Get Into Geek
