The 59th Sydney Film Festival has officially announced the full program of events at the first Sydney Film Festival Hub @ Lower Town Hall. Festival Hub is a free public venue where filmgoers can relax and mingle before or after screenings, see local and international acts, hear filmmaker talks and have a drink at the Keystone Bar. Music to my ears!
For 11 nights from 7-17 June, the Festival Hub – just a short stroll from the Festival’s major venues – will feature 26 free public events including 5 bands, 9 DJs, 1 photo exhibition, 5 Screenings, 4 performances, 11 panel discussions and thousands of discounted tickets. Festival Hub will offer free consultations with program gurus and $10 discount tickets for select next day screenings at the ticketing bar (open daily 5-8:30pm). All events are free and open to over-18s. Sydney Social 101 will include an overview of all of the free events, along with reviews of specific titles from the festival!
“The Hub is the place to be to experience the Festival as an insider,” said SFF Festival Hub Programmer, Matt Ravier. “Beyond the rich line-up of talks and performances, the Hub will be alive with festival buzz every night as critics, filmmakers, film lovers and Sydney creatives rub shoulders, share a drink and chat about the films on offer.”
Festival Hub @ Lower Town Hall will be open from 5-10pm 7-16 June, and 2-6pm 17 June.
Stay tuned for up-to-the-minute reviews and updates.
