Last night saw the inaugural launch of the newest food festival to Sydney’s culinary diary, King Street Wharf’s International Food Safari. The busy event was MC’d by Celebrity Chef Ben O’Donogue and saw Australia’s food and food tourism media sample a rich selection of canapés from King Street Wharf’s fabulous restaurants and bars while watching culinary visual demonstrations of pizza dough twirling, sushi and pasta making. Guests were entertained by Polynesian dancers from Bungalow 8 and Spanish Flamenco dancers from La Cita.
The International Food Safari will run for weeks at King Street Wharf from Monday 25 June to Sunday 8 July 2012 and is a celebration of the wide range of international cuisines that make the wharf a unique and popular location. While not only being able to enjoy delicious specially-created Safari meals and watch cultural dancing, during the festival, customers will also have the chance to win dinner vouchers worth $200 each, or a signed copy of Ben O’Donogue’s international barbeque cook book Outdoor.
