Sydney Social 101 was stoked to be invited to one of the hottest events this year as Oakley kicked off Summer 12/13 in true style, with a new range of eyewear; Garage Rock and an exclusive warehouse party in Sydney!
The VIP celebration was hosted in Sydney’s hottest new warehouse venue on Thursday 13th Sept, Venice 1346
The event featured a private performance from one half of Australia’s favourite Rock Duo, Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden, who was flown in especially (how very flash hey!) to DJ for the event and to officially kick off Good Charlotte’s Australian tour. You know what, he was freaking awesome! I often say that there aren’t enough venues in Sydney where you can dance and have a good time without compromising on the venue and/ or crowd! The music was brilliant and the whole crowd were on their feet!
The event was in celebration of the new Garage Rock eyewear range, which features a retro inspired frame made from Oakley O Matter, making the frame super light. This salute to the ’60s has metal detailing inspired by electric guitars, and the retro riffs are part of a smooth, classic look as original as the icons of rock. A homage to the era of high-decibel solos and horrified parents.
Available in an awesome selection of colours Garage Rock lens options come both polarised and non polarised and feature Oakley technology HDO to minimise glare and eye fatigue.
In addition to Benji Madden’s exclusive DJ appearance Parachute Youth and The Delta Riggs also performed to a pumped up crowd!

Some of Sydney’s hottest faces including Kate Peck, Sarah De Bono, Danny Clayton, The Faders, Didier Cohen, Dan Ewing, Cheyenne Tozzi and Oakley athletes were also be treated to refreshments from Corona Extra, Patron and Brown Brothers. The soft shell tacos were amazing!!!
