Here at Sydney Social 101 we’re always on the look out for a new pub to frequent! We are very happy to announce that there’s a new watering hole in town! Gallagher Hotels, the Sydney hotel group, has launched its new French-inspired hotel, Le Pub. Located at 66 King Street Sydney and situated right next door to Louis Vuitton, it is the perfect addition to Sydney’s growing French quarter!
Le Pub, owned and managed by husband and wife hotelier team Patrick and Angela Gallagher, is the perfect retreat for a midday cider or wine, delicious private dining or after work drinks. It is the seventh hotel in the Gallagher group; joining other Sydney favorites such as Irish themed PJ Gallagher’s and French bistro The Union.
Inspired by the Parisian metro, Le Pub is nestled underground with dual entrances from both King and York streets. It includes all the elements of a true pub and bistro, including a TAB, big screens and dual dining areas, while offering an authentic feeling of Paris, with the furniture and fittings sourced from Europe.
Angela Gallagher, General Manager, Gallagher Hotels, comments, “With more than 32 years experience in the hotel industry, Patrick and I are proud to add Le Pub to our growing offering of venues across Sydney. Our passion for good food and wine is perfectly aligned to the French culture. We’ve been very particular in our selection of cuisine, beverages and design to ensure we create a truly authentic feel.”
Gallagher Hotels are famed for their legendary menus and wine, and Le Pub is no exception. Award winning Executive Chef Ronny Ghantous has created a menu that truly celebrates French dining. With both pub and restaurant menus offering an expansive selection, Le Pub remains grounded and accessible, promoting ‘every day’ French food. The menu provides something for everyone, including homemade Duck Rillette, the Gallaghers award winning Beef Bourgiogon Pie and the indulgent Tarte au Chocolat Cacahuète.
The drinks menu also offers an array French Aperitifs, Cognacs and Absinthes, including; Lillet, Massenez Calvados, and La Grande Absente. Wines have been carefully sourced from various regions across France, These include Champagne Grande Marques, such as Pol Roger, Moet Chandan and Krug; reputable producers, Albert Mann and Hugel from Alsace and Premier Cru wines from Burgundy…. to name a few.
Angela comments, “We worked with a French Sommelier to create the beverage menu for Le Pub. We are proud to be offering a boutique selection, with traditional French brands that you wouldn’t find in many other Sydney establishments. We also have the typical ranges of Beer, Gin, Vodka, Tequila, but we will be encouraging our customers to try something different to get the authentic Le Pub experience.”
