More than $13,000 raised for publication of Shaken, Stirred, Flamed & Thrown – Cocktails done the Eau de Vie way
Renowned cocktail bar Eau de Vie has reached 100% of its crowd-funding target for the release of its cocktail book in just over 2 days. The campaign was launched on Tuesday evening and soared past its campaign goal early Friday morning.
Eau de Vie used crowd-funding site Indiegogo to raise funds for the launch of its first cocktail book, which aims to be ready for release in late September 2013.
“We’re both overwhelmed and absolutely floored by the amazing response we’ve had from our guests and from people in general,” says Eau de Vie owner Sven Almenning.
“We’ve been in conversations with various editors and publishing houses about an Eau de Vie cocktail book for a while, however, with the publishing industry as it is we decided to fast-track the process by leaving the decision with our guests and to use a crowd-funding as the means to get it to market. To hit our goal in just over 2 days is just amazing.”
The book, currently with the working title ‘Shaken, Stirred, Flamed & Thrown – Cocktails done the Eau de Vie way’ is a 200-page tome dedicated to the art of cocktails and will be designed as a beautiful coffee table book. “We’re going for Cocktail Art”, Almenning says. He promises beautiful photography as well as inspiring and fun recipes for entertaining at home – all inspired by great classics and Eau de Vie signature drinks.
The campaign is still live for another 29 days and the Eau de Vie team is encouraging all cocktail fans to join the cause. There is already talk of expanding the offering to include a how-to DVD depending on how much funding is raised.
