THE WORKERS, BALMAIN
As one of the birthplaces of the Australian Labor party, The Workers will broadcast the election results on a large screen, and will also shout free food & drinks to all if Labor pulls off a win.
ABOUT THE WORKERS:
The historic site of The Workers was a trades and labour hall in the 1890’s, and was where the Balmain Labourers Union formed the first Labour Electorate League. The venue name, several key design features – including large scale images of Labour party icons hanging above the bar (and the launch party hosted by Labour great Bob Hawke), are all a respectful (yet playful) nod to the history of the venue and Balmain’s rich Labour party history.
THE GAY BAR, DARLINGHURST
The cheeky boys at Gay Bar have said that anyone who comes in dressed in Tony Abbott’s favourite attire, red budgie smugglers, on Saturday night will get a free bottle of sparkling!
ABOUT THE GAY BAR:
Gay-owned and operated, The Gay Bar is the brain child of two of Sydney’s top movers and shakers in the industry, Stephen Craddock and Nelson De Sousa, directors of In The Dark, Australia’s leading independent event production company. They have worked with Grace Jones, Sophie Ellis Bextor, The Freemasons, Danni Minogue and many more.
