St.George OpenAir Cinema gives you a taste of its outstanding 2014 line up announcing the Australian Premiere of DALLAS BUYERS CLUB and preview screenings of THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, HER, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, CHINESE PUZZLE and LABOR DAY, along with a selection of the summer’s major releases from multi award winning directors.
Garnering critical acclaim and Oscar® buzz, Matthew McConaughey delivers a magnificent performance as the unlikely hero in DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, a powerful and uplifting true story about a man determined to beat fate and the medical establishment. Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée and also starring Jared Leto, Jennifer Garner and Dallas Roberts, the film is sure to be one of the most popular this season.

The 2014 program also features previews of the latest films from legendary directors Martin Scorsese and Joel and Ethan Coen; THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, the highly anticipated drama which tells an infamous tale of 80’s corporate greed, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill; and INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, a wry folk odyssey set in New York’s Greenwich Village in 1961, starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake.

From award winning director Spike Jonze, HER, is a love story set in Los Angeles in the near future, which explores with great humour and insight our increasingly peculiar and intimate relationship with technology. The critically acclaimed and beautifully crafted film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams and Scarlett Johansson.

Also announced in the 2014 program is the thriller come romance come drama LABOR DAY, directed by Jason Reitman, starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin and, following on from The Spanish Apartment & Russian Dolls, a preview of Cédric Klapisch’s romantic comedy CHINESE PUZZLE, starring Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou.

The 2014 program will feature an outstanding selection of the summer’s major releases, as well as some of the best art house films of 2013, including ENOUGH SAID, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, AMERICAN HUSTLE, THE GREAT BEAUTY, 20 FEET FROM STARDOM and ARE WE OFFICIALLY DATING?

From 10 January to 15 February 2014, the iconic summer event returns to Mrs Macquaries Point for an exceptional 34 night season of film, food, and wine served before spectacular harbour views.
